Fibromyalgia: Tired of being Tired

I am tired of being tired all the time. The last few months have been brutal for me, as you can probably tell by my lack of posting on this blog and others. I don't know if it is the weather (hot and humid), my new medications (thank you Mr. Obama for messing with my health insurance) or my new part-time job, but I have been exhausted for months.

Blame it on the Fibro Fog

When I think of all the symptoms associated with my fibromyalgia my favorite has to be fibro fog. I guess the official name is "Cognitive Fatigue", it comes from not getting enough REM sleep, this is the sleep when your brain gets repaired. When you don't get this sleep it is like you are walking around in a fog. I describe it like I can't think I used to.

What Causes Fibromyalgia Symptoms

Do you know what the causes for your fibromyalgia symptoms were? Was there something that triggered this whole wonderful experience? I came across a survey on ProHealth.com entitled "What Triggered Your Illness" and it started me wondering exactly what did trigger my fibromyalgia?

Ain't That a Hit in the Head

I came across an article today about a somewhat different method of dealing with fibromyalgia. It is called "tapping" or more formally Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). At first I was somewhat skeptical, after all, how can tapping yourself on the head really help anything.

One Small Step for Man, a Giant Leap for Me

I try not to make this blog all "About Me" except when it relates to something that has happened with my fibromyalgia and I feel it can help others. Anyone who has read any of this blog knows that I am a strong believer of not letting fibro get the best of me, so when I feel like I have made some progress in that regard, I like to share.

Another Fibromyalgia Success Story

Those of us who have fibromyalgia know it is difficult to deal with. I believe we can learn to deal with it and live with it, even when it is bad. I truly believe it has a lot to do with your attitude. You can either beat fibromyalgia or let it beat you. I came across this recent story from National Pain Report about a nurse who has had to deal with a severe case of fibro.

Making the Best of a Good Situation

Well, I have done it! The book has been finished and published. My fibromyalgia kept me home, so I pursue my lifelong dream to write a book. Right now, it is only available on Amazon, but don't worry there are plenty of free Kindle reading apps.

Here it is:
